An avid golfer, he was a former member of Elmhurst Country Club. An exceptional diagnostician, he treated his patients compassionately, while making them feel at ease. He will be forever remembered for his unique fashion sense and his witty sense of humor. He was truly one of a kind, devoting his life to his family, friends, and his patients. He returned to Northeastern Pennsylvania to practice family medicine in the Abingtons for 32 years.

As he progressed as a “Captain,” he thoroughly enjoyed his time at the helm of the “Southern Cross” (his “cabin cruiser”) on Lake Wallenpaupack. He was born and raised in Blakely, the son of the late John R.
He was a member of Dunmore United Methodist Church. Robert F. Noone of Scranton died Tuesday at Geisinger CMC Hospital. He was preceded in death by his wife Kathleen King Noone who died August 4, 2003. Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Daniel and Lucille Jackson Noone and was a graduate of the University of Scranton.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-two years Nancy Conroy Longo. Born in Dunmore, he was the son of the late Ralph J. And Mary Anna Lawrence Longo, and attended Dunmore High School. Prior to his retirement, Ralph was employed by Haddon Craftsmen.
Ed was preceded in death by his twin sister Mary Foxwell, his brother Steve Manley, and his nephew Timothy Bell, his loving in-laws James and Francis Brown, as well as his brother-in-law James C. Brown. Ed was a graduate of Pennsbury High School in Yardley, Pennsylvania. Surviving are three sons, Edward of Uniondale, David of Duryea, and Robert of Moosic, a daughter Cissy Gavin of Scranton, a sister Nora Poulson of Florida, nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sons, Joseph and Vincent, and siblings Jack, Jimmy, Eddie Doud, and Loretta Wilson. Frances Altmann, 100, a lifelong resident of Dunmore, died Tuesday surrounded by her loving family.
Kathleen’s remains left her late residence on Saturday 10th December at 11.30am for 12noon Requiem Mass in St Mary’s Church Lavey, , and her burial took place immediately afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Birt (née Henry) 60 Eden Road, Portglenone, 7th December Kathleen RIP, beloved wife of the late Barney, much loved mother of Moira , Edward, Brendan, Ailish , Bernard and Paul and dear sister of Celine and the late Sr. Patsy’s remains left his late residence on Saturday 17th December 2022 at 9.30am for 10am Requiem Mass in St Mary’s Church, Bellaghy, , and his burial took place immediately afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. We are a fifth generation Scranton area family business. We have proudly served Northeastern Pennsylvania, Lackawanna county, Scranton and Dunmore for 150 years. She was very blessed to have an dedicated daughter Jan to stand by her side all throughout her long battling journey.

Many friends of her children say that she was their second Mom. Close family members and friends describe her as one of the kindest, most caring, thoughtful and loving persons that they had ever known. Her sisters and brothers in-law and nieces and nephews were very important to her. She loved them and had special relationships with all of them. Nancy P. Haudenschield of South Abington Township died Monday at home surrounded by her loving family.
As a child, Buddy attended Nativity School in South Scranton until the age of 10 when he and his sisters sadly lost both their parents. As an orphan, Buddy was sent to live with his uncle, Father John White, in Hazelton. He spent the following year at St. Gabriel’s School in Hazelton before moving back to South Scranton where he attended Pistoria School on Pittston Avenue. “Ruthie” graduated from Dalton High School in 1948, Keystone College in 1950 and attended the University of Scranton.
A founding member of the law firm Scanlon, Howley & Doherty, P.C., Jim served as a trial attorney for 50 years and was known as a gentlemen inside and outside of the courtroom. Army prior to law school and remained active in the Army Reserve upon returning to Scranton to start his legal career. Jim was a life-long member of the YMCA in Dunmore and a 50 year member of the Lackawanna County Bar Association. He served as a solicitor to the Dunmore School Board and the Lackawanna County Tax Claim Bureau. Surviving is Annmarie Toole Sylvester, stepmother, a brother Karl Sylvester, MD of Menlo Park, California, and three sisters, Joanne Hirschler of Clarks Summit, Carol Sylvester of Jermyn, Holly James of Jermyn, and many nieces and nephews.
